Thought For The Day, 5/18/17 E-mail
Written by Bob Kalle

Good morning everyone. Today I will write about one of the keys to life, happiness and success. Andy Andrews wrote “The Seven Decisions” and today you get the first. He writes that we have to take responsibility for our lives. The buck has to stop with us. We are where we are in life based on the decisions we have made to get us to this point. Have you made that decision, to take responsibility for your life? More to come so stay tuned. Have a blessed day.

Thought For The Day, 5/17/17 E-mail
Written by Bob Kalle

I am always looking for ideas that lead to success. One idea is that it is important to stick to principles. Principles always work. Maybe not 100% of the time, but you could bet the house on it and make a lot of money. Yet, it is principles that people always want to debate. It is OK to debate methods, but not the principles. And I have gone through this with my children and still do. Another thing to remember,  I heard Andy Andrews speak, and he said it is important to know the principles of life, because whether you know them or not, they still work. Have a blessed day.

A REALLY SAD SITUATION E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

The only laws left in this country are the laws that the little guy (you and I) are supposed to follow. The president, the Supreme Court, and many other politicians are no longer hindered by the rule of law.

Since this administration began the Constitution has been violated continuously, and now it is violated blatantly. And I am not speaking of small matters and minute affects. This president has sidestepped congress and instituted Executive privilege on many important issues like, healthcare, immigration, FCC takeover of the internet, and now he has his eyes set on "raising taxes through executive order." THIS PRESIDENT IS CORRUPT! He is supposedly a "constitutional scholar." Did he not read Article 1, section 1 of the Constitution?

When should I consider refinancing my home mortgage? E-mail
Written by Gilbert Bennett, Mortgage Loan Originator

In May 2013, Warren Buffet said to a Fox News reporter “...if you ever want to get a mortgage, today is the day to get a mortgage.”  It was a true statement then and it’s true again.  Rates are historically low and borrowers have more opportunities than ever to save on their mortgage payments.

Comment Regarding Gulf Coast Tree Care E-mail
Written by Bob Kalle

Gulf Coast Tree Care- I had an interesting experience this morning. My neighbor had one of his trees in the front of the house cut down, and he contracted with Gulf Coast Tree Care to trim back our tree that stretched over his front yard. We had received a certified letter saying that they were permitted to trim our tree. They then added;

As tax day approaches - we need your help! We know you’re sick and tired of a broken tax system that empowers the corrupt IRS and fattens the wallets of special interest groups in Washington.

Global Warming Theorist Cannot Possibly Be Wrong! E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

Last night, as I was with a small group of people, each freezing our asses off in single digit temperature, I jokingly looked to the sky and asked, “where’s all that global warming we were promised?” Everyone one laughed except for one young gentleman. He stated, unequivocally, “these freezing temperatures are all part of the global warming process.” Most of us sneered at his comment and just went on to the next subject. Not so with me.

Why America Has So Much Trouble
Written by Roy Mandina

Are you old enough to remember a time when the biggest warnings to children was to not run in school and to not chew gum? Or perhaps a better question would be, do remember when our children didn’t have to be warned about drugs, sex, pedophiles, X-rated television, internet predators, etc., etc.? Do you ever wonder what happened to America’s innocence?

Just A Thought On The U.S. National Debt, 10/22/2013 E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

America recently went through a sixteen day period described by many in the media as a “crisis.” I am of course referring to the government shutdown which ended with a deal made  last Wednesday night that more or less suspends the fighting for a few months. What most Americans witnessed was  the banging-of-heads between the two party system in Washington on two different subjects; the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, (commonly known as Obamacare) and the battle over raising the debt ceiling. What no American witnessed was a crisis.

A Bronx Tale E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

The debate is never-ending. Every New York kid is positive beyond the shadow of a doubt that theirs was the best possible childhood, in the greatest  borough. The greasers in Brooklyn thought they were the toughest, the nerds in Queens thought they were the coolest, the gang in  Manhattan’s Little Italy thought they had all the CONNECTIONS, and I have no idea what the foreigners out in Staten Island thought. And the crew in the only borough with a “the,” (or Da; depending on just how Bronxy you are) were just as certain as the rest.

Can Anyone Name This Disease? E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

The disease that has entered into our country is quickly corrupting our sense of just what it means to be an American. The U.S. was founded on the principles of freedom from government intrusion. And with that freedom came responsibility. Until this disease took root, and as the song goes, “Everybody pulled his weight.” We cannot have an  unobtrusive  government if we are indoctrinated to rely on the government! Today there are “best seller” books being written that describe the hundreds of “benefit” programs available to our citizens and how best to take advantage of them.
