Written by Christine Ferry

RIVERVIEW, FL MARCH 8, 2010:  How would you feel if you arrived at a small, first time held local tournament and found out the President of a National Judo Association was in the building?  Not only was Gary Goltz there to speak and preside over the tournament but he kept himself very busy refereeing matches throughout the day!  It was awesome to see that the President understands that seeing, meeting and taking part in events on a local level are just as important as being at the National events. “Our club was very excited about the opportunity to meet the President and see him in action.” said Sensei Scott Ferry.  The team’s performance was very good at this first time Yoichiro Matsumura Tournament being held in Ft Myers, FL on March 5.

Racing Report From The 2011 Battle Of The Bay E-mail
Written by Scott Carde
Aside from the wind burn and chilled knees I had a great time. The riders were stoked and did their best. Many riders told me it was like hitting a brick wall running into the wind as they turned on to the second and fourth straights but they rode through it the best they could. USA BMX had plenty of volunteers and they pulled off a great inaugural event. The track was in top condition and we had very few wrecks. We will need our usual amount of volunteers to run our race this weekend so please respond to Lisa’s call for volunteers when she sends it out this week.
