Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center's Jessica Ho Wins Another National Championship  E-mail

BRANDON, FL.  April 11, 2012.  The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center is proud to announce that 15-year old Jessica Ho has won the International Spring Championships held in Carson, California April 1 through 7, 2012 for the Girls’ 16’s Division. Jessica is currently ranked at Number 4 in the country and is coached by Alex Golub. The USTA today announced that Tennis for Fun, based in Brandon, FL  at The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, has been awarded the 2011 USTA Adaptive Tennis National Community Service Award. The award is given to a program or program leader that has demonstrated continued excellence, dedication and service in tennis for an adaptive tennis community.

The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center  is extremely proud of our own Jessica Ho, 14, winner of the Girls' 16's Singles at The USTA Junior Winter National Championships held in Scottsdale, Arizona December 27, 2011 through January 1, 2012. She is shown here with the famous Gold Ball Trophy with HI Performance Coach Alex Golub. Jessica is now ranked No. 4 in the nation in Girls' 16's. Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center's HI Performance Tennis Shines at USTA Regional Tournament  E-mail

The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center’s HI Performance junior tennis program had several standouts at the USTA Regional Summer Smash City of Delray Beach Tournament held September 3 and 4, 2011. Our own Stephen Madonia (14) defeated Jonathan Deautriell 6-3, 6-3 in Boys’ 14 Singles; in the Girls’ 12’s Singles Cheyenne Lilienthal defeated Carly Feldman 7-5, 6-4; in Boys’ 18’s Singles Jonathan Ho defeated Jake Albo 6-2, 6-0 and Colin Roller defeated Isaac Thylen 6-1, 7-5. I Boys’ 18 Doubles Jon Ho and his partner defeated Jack Murphy and his partner. In Girls’ 18 Doubles Blair Martin and her partner won the finals 8-4.

Junior Tennis Champions at The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center  E-mail

Several Junior players from The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center’s HI Performance Junior Tennis Program excelled this past weekend (July 9-10, 2011) in area tournaments.

At The Florida Open – National Tournament in Ft. Myers our own Jon Ho defeated Joshua Dancu 6-3, 6-1 in the Boys 18 Singles division for overall 3rd Place. Jessica Ho defeated Julia O’Loughlin 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 for 1st Place in the Girls 16 Singles division. In the Boys 18 Doubles division, BSAC’s Jon Ho and teammate/partner Jack Murphy came out in 1st place over opponents Defrancesch/Lam, 9-7. In the Girls 16 Doubles division Jessica Ho and partner Julia O’Loughlin defeated opponents Curtis/Moore, 8-0.

Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center Launches Its Second Tennis Location  E-mail

Largo, FL May 6, 2011. The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center launches its second tennis location at The Seminole Lakes Tennis Center, 6150 Augusta Blvd., Largo, FL 33777. Programming will include our famous HI Performance, Future Stars, QuickStart, and private lessons for junior players, and private lessons and clinics for adults.

Brandon, FL. March 22, 2011. Year round regimens of disciplined, focused training have certainly paid off for some young athletes at The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center.

On the tennis front, our own 14-year old Jessica Ho won the USTA National Open at Bardmoor, defeating Katerina Stewart 2-6; 7-6(4); 6-2, raising her to a national ranking of #11 in her age group in the country. Jessica is part of BSAC’s HI Performance Junior Tennis Program.

Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center's New Tennis Professional Eric Dobsha  E-mail

Brandon, FL – November 9, 2010: Eric Dobsha comes to us from the Atlanta area and has over 23 years of coaching experience. As a player he was ranked Top 10 in every U.S. age group in singles, Number 1 in every age group in doubles, and played collegiate tennis at the University of Florida. There Eric was a member of the 1994 SEC Champions, Top 25 NCAA singles, and Top 10 NCAA Doubles. He has coached twoTop 100 players and one Top 200 player. While in Atlanta, Eric was instrumental in directing an inner city pro bono tennis program for 180 children, using 50 volunteers. He now lives in Tampa and is looking forward to working with both junior and adult players here at BSAC.

Ho Beats 3 Seeds To Win Boys High School Tennis Title; Fitz-Randolph Sisters Faced Off In Girls Final  E-mail

Tampa Bay High School Tennis Championships Has Great Finish

TAMPA, Fla., October 24, 2010 – Wharton’s Jonathan Ho defeated three seeds to win the boys title at the inaugural Tampa Bay High School Tennis Championships this weekend hosted by Hunter’s Green Country Club.  After defeating teammate and top-seed Ben Hwang in a nearly three hour semi-final, Ho came back to defeat second seed Danny Mack of Lakeland High School, 6-4, 6-4, in a match featuring beautiful shot-making.  After the match, Mack, a junior, said, “Jon was too good, but I’ll be back next year to try again.”  For his efforts, Ho earned a wildcard into a professional tournament in 2011.

"Tennis For Fun" Athletes Recently Competed In Florida's State Special Olympics  E-mail

Brandon Sports And Aquatics'  "Tennis For Fun" athletes recently competed in Florida's State Special Olympics. The competition was held at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The athletes competed in Tennis singles or in " Individual Tennis Skills". All the athletes won a medal.
