Pats' Branch should learn to keep quiet!

New England Patriots wide receiver voiced his displeasure with some of the New York Jets antics Sunday following the Pats 28-21 defeat to the New York Jets.  Branch called some of the Jets “classless”.  Branch said “I think the embarrassing part came after the game, with some of the classless guys they have on their football team,” when he was asked if he was embarrassed by the loss.

Jets  and Patriots will fight one last time. This one matters!!

Here we go again. The stage is set and the Jets and Patriots stand in the center of it. Is it good vs. evil?   Is it blonde vs. brunette? Is it David vs Goliath?  We’ll soon find out the answers to these questions. As we know Round 1 went to the New York Jets 28-14. Round 2 went to the Patriots 45-3 on a Monday night where both teams entered 9-2 and first place on the line. Round 3 will be determined this coming Sunday from Gilette Stadium in Foxboro Massachusetts where these two powerhouse football teams will collide one last time in an epic battle. New England finished the season 14-2 earning the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  The Jets finished the season 11-5 and entered as a wild card playoff team with #6 seed.  The Jets and Patriots will meet for only the 3rd time ever in the post season where the Patriots have won both of those games.

#6  Jets  (11-5) visit  #3 Colts (10-6)

Sound familiar? Yes, I believe so. The New York Jets and company will head back to Lucas Oil Stadium this Saturday night to take on the #3 Indianapolis Colts in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game.  Indianapolis’ win this past Sunday against Tennessee coupled by Kansas City’s loss, allowed the Colts to win the division and earn the #3 spot in the AFC. The Jets trampled the Bills 38-7 but received no help from Baltimore and/or Pittsburgh as both squads won their games.

The season ended on a high for the New York Jets as they finished the year with 11 wins for only the 5th time in franchise history.  Most of the Jets starters found themselves on the sideline resting for its first round opening playoff game against the Colts next Saturday night.  It was a time for some of the younger guys to take on the work load for these New York Jets.

Jets Lose Tough One To Bears 38-34, Earn Playoff Birth With Help From Washington  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
The Jets came to play and left it all out of the field Sunday.  However it wasn’t enough to take down the Bears (11-4) who secured their first round bye.  It was a game nobody expected as the Bears and Jets got involved in one exciting shootout.  Two of the league’s most elite defenses gave up a combined 72 points in this matchup with the Bears edging the Jets by 4.

Shotty Must Go  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
It’s time and Shottenheimer must go for Jets to be successful.

10-9 to Baltimore, 9-0 to Green Bay and 10-6 to the Miami Dolphins.  These are three of four losses for the New York Jets this season in where the offense only had to score 11pts to win the game.  Could they get it done? The answer is no and the Jets walked away with their heads hanging in all 3 games.  This New York Jets offense is hard to watch and I’m calling for Shottenheimer's dismissal.  Let’s be honest here, outside of the Buffalo game where the Jets just crushed the Bills, have the Jets had an exceptional game on offense?

Ouch! This one hurts. Jets offense a no show again as Dolphins hand Jets 2nd straight divisional loss 10-6.  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
East Rutherford, NJ: 10-9, 9-0 and now 10-6 are all defeats for the New York Jets at home this year.  For whatever the reason, the Jets offense cannot get it done at home. The Jets lost for a second straight week 10-6 to division rival Miami. The game was ugly from the opening kickoff for the Jets and the offense was a complete no show for a second straight week.

Jets Face Huge Setback With Leonard To Miss Remainder Of Season With A Broken Right Tibia  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
Green and White nation faced a huge setback today at its Atlantic Health Training Center.  Safety and punt returner Jim Leonard broke his Tibia and will miss the remainder of the season.  Leonard will miss his first game in 58 straight contests dating back to his days with Buffalo and Baltimore before coming to New York.  This is a detrimental loss for the New York Jets defense.  Leonard was a key impact player on defense who was a leader and did most of the play calling for the secondary.  He will truly be missed. “This is a damper, there’s no question about it, it is a damper” coach Rex Ryan added at his afternoon press conference.  “You never want to lose a guy, I feel bad for Jim and it’s going to be hard to replace him” Ryan added.

Jets defense shows the way but Smith steals the show as Jets chase Bengals out of town on Thanksgiving night.

Happy Thanksgiving and here we are.  The New York Jets moved to 9-2 overall with a 26-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals Thanksgiving night.  The Jets win moves the Jets into a first place tie with the New England Patriots who also won on Thanksgiving.  It wasn’t pretty once again for the New York Jets but it wasn’t ugly either.  The game Thursday night brought back some memories of last year’s playoff win on the road against the Bengals. Mark Sanchez wasn’t great but he didn’t have to be great tonight.

Hoping Jets Offense Laughs Bengals Out Of Town  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
Airports, lost luggage, traffic, people, delays, planes , boats and taxi’s all over. That is the tale of the busiest travel day in America, the eve of Thanksgiving.  However the New York Jets will be doing none of this. The New York Jets will be resting, healing and mentally preparing for their short week opponent, the 2-7 Cincinnati Bengals.  Jets will play host Thanksgiving night to Cincinnati, a team they beat at home 37-0 to enter the playoffs last year, then defeating them again a week later on the road 24-14.

A Shotty Play Call Has Jets Fans Frustrated  E-mail
Written by Robert Patell
I am not one to sit and point fingers nor one to really argue with a coach especially after a league’s best 8-2 start.  I can’t help but wonder if the Jets would be playing these miraculous games had the play call been different.  In the Jets most recent miraculous win 30-27 over Houston, the play call was once again, sketchy.  Brian Shottenheimer in his 12th year of service in the NFL and 5th season with the Jets, has had Jets fans pulling out their hair in more cases than one.

Gang Green continues to find the way!

On a clean crisp day in East Rutherford NJ, the New York Jets came in to a game where they were a 6.5 point favorite and ended it yet again in the final seconds.  This time playmaking sensation Santonio Holmes hooked up with Mark Sanchez with 10 seconds left in the game to completely stun their opponent for a 2nd consecutive week.  Last week Holmes ended the game with a breaking move to the outside, for 37 yards and the score with 8 seconds left on the clock to stun the Browns in OT.
