Moffitt Cancer Center Honors Coach Don Shula For Leadership And Philanthropy E-mail

Tampa, FL – Feb. 5, 2010Moffitt Cancer Center honored Coach Don Shula in an award ceremony attended by nearly 400 people, including NFL Hall of Fame members, former senators and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. The Moffitt Board of Advisors’ Leadership & Philanthropy Award Dinner, which was held at The Ritz-Carlton in Miami’s South Beach on Wednesday, netted $250,000 for cancer research at Moffitt.

Rather than taking orders, they go to the customers to custom fit anything from day trips to student senior trips, church trips to senior citizen trips, unusual parties and party buses, and even family reunions. They are working on a way to provide bus trips to the Rays games this summer.

This Memorial will have a UH-1Huey, an AH-1F Cobra mounted on pedestals. A 12 foot wide by 7 foot tall and 8” thick Black Granite Monument with the names of all the Veterans from Hillsborough County who died in Vietnam. We are trying to have this Memorial completed by Veterans Day 2011 and we need your help to do that.

The week runs from Thursday to Wednesday. At the end of the week, anyone that lets us know they saw their name, will be put in a drawing on Thursday morning.
