BRANDON, FL – The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce’s President and CEO Laura Simpson, along with members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee, announced recently to the Board of Directors and staff that Simpson has resigned her position within the organization. Effective October 31, 2014, Simpson will step down as President and CEO to assume her new role as Main Street Bartow, Inc.’s Executive Director. The Chamber’s Executive Committee has begun transition planning, both for the long term and on an interim basis, and is searching for Simpson’s replacement.

Hundreds of Suicide Prevention Walks Being Held Nationwide Through December 2014

[St. Petersburg, FL September  24, 2014] – The Pinellas County Out of the Darkness Community Walk will take place on October 25th at South Straub Park in St. Petersburg (2nd Ave NE at Beach Drive), with registration beginning at 9 a.m.  Hosted by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the event is expected to draw more than 500 participants and is part of a national effort to unite 150,000 walkers throughout the country and raise more than $10 million for suicide prevention and awareness programs.

TALLAHASSEE, FL October 5, 2013.  Maryland’s one turnover clearly did not make or break the game.  With one touch down in the first quarter, two in the second, three in the third and three in the fourth, it’s no question who won.  Florida State didn’t leave any room for Maryland to score, with only allowing Maryland 9 first downs, compared to Florida States’ 33 first downs.

Hillsborough Animal Advocacy Organizations Stand Together in Support of Changes at Hillsborough County Animal Services E-mail

Tampa, FL (August 19, 2013) –A number of Hillsborough County animal advocacy organizations are stepping forward as a coalition to support all the positive changes that have occurred at our shelter since the management change occurred a little over a year and a half ago. The coalition includes two of the most influential animal organizations in Hillsborough County: the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and the Animal Coalition of Tampa, which together are responsible for spaying and neutering over 22,000 animals over the past year and over 300,000 since the clinics opened.

After 13 years with Verizon, the opportunity presented itself. My wife, Kelly and I decided it was a good time for a change. So with my wife’s blessing, I took a retirement package and invested in the dream we have had for a long time. At that time, we decided (I mean our friends and ourselves) that the best name would be “The Simple Life Outfitters” for the simple reason that there are a lot of people that live this kind of life, so why not make it easy to find the kind of things we all share and wear, and put them in one place.
