Bears and Bills Midget game of 8/29/15 E-mail

This week the Bears midget team broke into the win colum,n with a 6-0 decision over the Bills. The winning touchdown came after a blocked punt and came with under 3 minutes to go in the game.

The game was a hard fought defensive battle. Kundre, Grant, Brandon, Spencer, Colin, Donte, Darrell, Justin, Greg, Tre, Jackson, Ethan  and Nick held the fort shutting out the Bills. The defense gave up 69 yards on 16 carries and allowed only one completion on 14 passes. They had one fumble recovery and two interceptions while blocking one punt.

You may have originally met and known us, in the past, as T.A.M.P.A./Tampa Area Marine Parents Association.  After much discussion and a remodeling of the organization the BOD made the decision to change our name officially to; MARINE FAMILIES.

East Bay Little League, now known as East Bay Youth Athletics (Riverview, FL), was founded in 1971 and has been the home for youth baseball and softball to thousands of young boys and girls throughout southern Hillsborough County. Serving an average of 700-800 participants per season, EBYA has grown to become one of the largest youth baseball/softball organizations in Hillsborough County.

Jurassic World is the fourth installment in one of the most epic film franchises of all time. While only being out to the public for a short time, this film has grossed over 1.2 billion dollars. Jurassic World, however, has received mixed reviews from Rotten Tomatoes’ top critics and currently holds a 60% rating. The film that has brought in extremely large sums of revenue each week and seems to be loved a lot more by the audience than critics, leading to the question, were critics too harsh with their judgments of Jurassic World?

Last Thursday I had Family Fence Company take down my old fence of 28 years and put up a new fence. It was time since the old fence was coming apart. The three man team did an exceptional job. It was extremely hot and it took them quite awhile to take sown 205 feet of fence with the posts and load it all on a flatbed to take to the dump. I could tell it was quite a chore.

Brandon, Fla (February 19, 2015) – A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay, Inc., has hit a major milestone -- it has  provided over 100,000 bed nights to foster children since opening its doors in June, 2009.   These are nights when a foster child is tucked into a warm, clean bed with a full stomach in a safe and loving home. This milestone coincides with the February 19th birthday of Dottie Berger MacKinnon, the founder and visionary of A Kid’s Place.  Dottie died of cancer in October, 2013.

11u Southshore Rockets - July 1, 2015 E-mail

Our very own 11u Southshore Rockets travel baseball team (Riverview, FL) competed in the 2015 AAU Grand National Baseball Championships this past week at the Disney/ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida.  Baseball teams came from all across the country to compete in this week-long national invitational baseball tournament. Our 11u Rockets battled through eight games and two rounds of pool play defeating some very tough teams out of Maryland, Georgia and Florida to advance to the AAU National Championship Game where they faced off against the 11u Central Florida Wolverines/Hoyle team for the national title.

This year visitors were entertained by various car clubs, burnout competition, Judo demonstration by Gracie Tampa Judo, The GFM band from Jacksonville and local vendors.Econo Car Rentals joined forces with Street Assassins car club to fundraise money for Autism Speaks foundation.

Eclipse Antiaging Solutions- Donita Brezovar, NP, is bringing new skincare procedures to an already extensive list of services offered at A Peaceful Harbor Day Spa and Salon in Apollo Beach.  Donita has been a resident of Apollo Beach for 13 years.  She is a nurse practitioner and graduate of Vanderbilt University.  She worked in various hospitals in the area caring for premature babies in NICUs, as well as a vein center, and a Medi Spa doing laser hair removal. The technical skills required in those positions have given her the experience to perform intricate and delicate procedures.  The treatments she will be offering at A Peaceful Harbor include procedures designed to treat facial spider veins and reduce facial wrinkles and inflammation.
