Just A Thought On The U.S. National Debt, 10/22/2013 E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

America recently went through a sixteen day period described by many in the media as a “crisis.” I am of course referring to the government shutdown which ended with a deal made  last Wednesday night that more or less suspends the fighting for a few months. What most Americans witnessed was  the banging-of-heads between the two party system in Washington on two different subjects; the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, (commonly known as Obamacare) and the battle over raising the debt ceiling. What no American witnessed was a crisis.

The Simple Life Outfitters E-mail
Written by Bob Kalle

The Simple Life Outfitters is owned and operated by Kelly and Kelly Morris and opened in December, 2010. Their children, Mandy and Korey, also work at the store.

After 13 years with Verizon, the opportunity presented itself. My wife, Kelly and I decided it was a good time for a change. So with my wife’s blessing, I took a retirement package and invested in the dream we have had for a long time. At that time, we decided (I mean our friends and ourselves) that the best name would be “The Simple Life Outfitters” for the simple reason that there are a lot of people that live this kind of life, so why not make it easy to find the kind of things we all share and wear, and put them in one place. Easy to find, with the right family atmosphere people are drawn to.

A Bronx Tale E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

The debate is never-ending. Every New York kid is positive beyond the shadow of a doubt that theirs was the best possible childhood, in the greatest  borough. The greasers in Brooklyn thought they were the toughest, the nerds in Queens thought they were the coolest, the gang in  Manhattan’s Little Italy thought they had all the CONNECTIONS, and I have no idea what the foreigners out in Staten Island thought. And the crew in the only borough with a “the,” (or Da; depending on just how Bronxy you are) were just as certain as the rest.

Global Warming Theorist Cannot Possibly Be Wrong! E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

Last night, as I was with a small group of people, each freezing our asses off in single digit temperature, I jokingly looked to the sky and asked, “where’s all that global warming we were promised?” Everyone one laughed except for one young gentleman. He stated, unequivocally, “these freezing temperatures are all part of the global warming process.” Most of us sneered at his comment and just went on to the next subject. Not so with me.

Why America Has So Much Trouble E-mail
Written by Roy Mandina

Are you old enough to remember a time when the biggest warnings to children was to not run in school and to not chew gum? Or perhaps a better question would be, do remember when our children didn’t have to be warned about drugs, sex, pedophiles, X-rated television, internet predators, etc., etc.? The First Snowfall E-mail
Written by Dana Adkins

Snow used to cover the acres of frozen grass for more months than not, it seemed, in our backyard where I lived as a child.  Huge oak trees dotted our lawn, branches smothered in the snow piled so high, if you even touched one it would all tumble down.  The first snowfall was always the most memorable.  Walking out of our two-story wood house, painted a light blue, the flakes would gently fall on your shoulders and tongue, persuading you to get excited about the winter to come.  Waking up the morning after the first flake hit the ground, everything looked magical.  There were no footsteps ruining the pristine perfection of the white mass spreading across our yard.
